Paradip Port handles fastest 75 MMT throughput

Paradip Port Authority (PPA), Odisha’s lone Major Port, has announced that it clocked an unprecedented 75 Million Metric Tonnes (MMT) of cargo throughput in the current fiscal year, making it the fastest 75 MMT ever handled in the history of all Indian Major Ports. The port has shown 5.03% growth in cargo volume compared to the previous fiscal year, as of September 26, 2025. It reached this significant milestone within the first six months of the current financial year, achieving it 10 days in advance compared to the previous year. Crude oil handling reached 17.22 MMT, exhibiting a growth of 19.34% over the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year. Similarly, coastal thermal coal loading reached 22.51 MMT, up 4.3%, while flux material volume reached 2.97 MMT, an increase of 19%, as per a report.
