The Kandla Port Shipping Agents Association (KPSAA) has extended a warm welcome to Mr Nilabhra Dasgupta, IRS, on his appointment as the new Deputy Chairman of Deendayal Port Authority (DPA), Kandla.
On behalf of the association, President Mr Bharat Gupta, along with Vice President Mr Ashish Joshi, Joint Secretary Mr Vikram Singh Bhati, Treasurer Mr Sahil Dutta and Executive Member Mr K. M. Thakker, conveyed their sincere congratulations and best wishes to Mr Dasgupta as he took on this pivotal role.
In an engaging interaction with the KPSAA committee, Mr Dasgupta reflected on his tenure at Paradip Port Authority where he spearheaded several operational improvements. He expressed optimism that similar strategic reforms will be implemented at Deendayal Port to reduce berthing delays, enhance operational efficiency and maximise resource utilisation—all in pursuit of the port’s ambitious goal of surpassing 170 MMT+ in cargo throughput.
Mr Dasgupta also called upon port stakeholders to present well-structured, data-backed proposals aimed at increasing cargo volumes. He assured that the port authority remains committed to supporting initiatives that align with the broader vision of strengthening Kandla’s role in India’s maritime growth.
Reaffirming its support, KPSAA stated: “Following the dynamic leadership of our esteemed Chairman Mr Sushil Kumar Singh, we are honoured to welcome another visionary to Deendayal Port. Shri Nilabhra Dasgupta’s experience and forward-thinking approach will undoubtedly accelerate the port’s progress. KPSAA stands united with the port authority in driving Kandla’s growth and contributing to India’s economic advancement.”
