Auto exports up with double-digit growth
Oct 24, 2025
Automobile exports from India have shown a growth path not only month-wise in September, but also in the second quarter (Q2), and in the last six months (first half of the financial year) for both passenger vehicles (PVs) and two-wheelers (2Ws). The latest numbers shared by Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) indicate that total PV exports grew by 30.3% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 87,762 units in September as compared with 67,379 units in the same month last year. Similarly, the total 2W exports grew by 15.3% y-o-y to 4,29,562 units during the month, as against 3,72,481 units in September 2024. The strong export growth in all segments in Q2 indicates the growing brand acceptance of Indian-made vehicles. Looking ahead, the outlook for the sector remains encouraging on the back of key tailwinds, said a report.
