APM Terminals Pipavav advisory to shipping lines on maintaining draft

 

APM Terminals Pipavav (GPPL) has in a Customer Advisory requested its shipping line partners to consider maintaining a draft of 12.0 metres or more (as per Safe Memo guidelines) for vessels calling at the port. This proactive measure will significantly contribute to increased berth productivity, enabling faster turnaround of vessels, it said.

This was based on its comprehensive review of historical performance, which observed that vessels calling at the port with a draft of 12.0 metres or more (within the parameters defined in the Safe Memo) consistently achieved higher STS crane productivity compared to vessels with a draft below 12.0 meters, the Advisory explained.
