Agri exports up
Nov 7, 2025
India’s agri exports grew by about 12% during the first half of the current financial year, with shipments of products such as non-basmati rice, buffalo meat and pulses, among others, registering an increase during the period on higher demand. The shipment value of agri products monitored by Apeda increased to a value of $13.936 billion during April-September 2025-26, up from $12.475 billion in the corresponding period of the previous year. Non-basmati shipments grew 27.6% at $2.87 billion during H1FY26 over the corresponding previous year’s $2.25 billion, as volumes registered a growth of around 51% to over 7.01 lakh tonnes (4.65 lakh tonnes in the corresponding previous year). However, basmati rice shipments saw a marginal decline, falling to $2.76 billion from $2.86 billion in the same period last year, due to weak pricing, according to a report.
