World iron ore exports dip
Nov 26, 2025
Global iron ore exports decreased by 9% in the first week of November 2025, falling from 30.70 million tonnes to 27.80 million tonnes, largely due to a sharp drop in shipments from Australia. This decline contrasts with a rise in exports from Brazil, which benefited from the subsiding of weather-related disruptions. Despite the export drop, the freight market remained firm, supported by Chinese restocking efforts. This weekly fluctuation is part of a dynamic market, where overall global exports in 2024 were up 2% year-over-year. However, the market continues to face uncertainties regarding Chinese demand and domestic steel production policies, as per a report.
