VOC Port handles more overall cargo and containers till June this fiscal

 

V. O. Chidambaranar Port (VOC Port) has handled 10.73 million tonnes of cargo up to June in this financial year 2025-26, marking a 3.50% growth compared to the 10.37 million tonnes handled during the same period of the last financial year. 

The port also recorded a 6.12% increase in container handling with 2,07,707 TEUs handled up to June 2025-26, as against 1,95,728 TEUs in the corresponding period of the previous financial year. 

The steady handling figures underscore the port’s commitment to maintaining high service standards, and readiness to scale up as trade demands evolve, it said in a communique.
