Unmesh Sharad Wagh to grace Maritime And Logistics Awards (MALA) 2025 on August 1 in Mumbai

 

Exim India’s Maritime And Logistics Awards (MALA), the industry’s premier recognition of excellence, is back with its 15th edition (MALA 2025) on Friday, August 1, 2025 at Hotel JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar, Grand Ballroom, Mumbai.

True to tradition, MALA 2025 promises a distinguished gathering of key stakeholders from the maritime, cargo, logistics and ex-im trade sectors, the who’s who including senior government officials, regulatory authorities and prominent shippers, to honour the best among companies and individuals from all over India.

Among the eminent personalities attending will be Mr Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, Chairman of Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and CMD of Vadhvan Port Project Ltd (VPPL), a visionary leader whose contribution to India’s port sector has been transformational.

JNPA saw exemplary growth under Mr Wagh’s leadership, with capacity augmentation to over 10 million TEUs, rapid expansion of the port-based SEZ, significant infrastructure enhancement and increased focus on sustainability, among others.

He is now also overseeing the development of the mega Vadhvan Port, in Maharashtra’s Palghar district, with proposed capacity to handle 24 million TEUs and nearly 300 million tonnes. Importantly, Vadhvan Port will be 100% green from inception. It is expected to be among the Top 10 ports globally upon completion.
