Seabird turns 21: A journey of People, Purpose and Progress

This year marks a truly special milestone in Seabird’s story: on September 20, Seabird completed 21 years of redefining logistics in India. What began in 2004 as a vision to simplify supply chains has today become a legacy of resilience, growth and trust. For the Seabird family, this anniversary is not just about the years gone by but about every challenge conquered, every victory earned and every step taken together on an unforgettable journey. 

At the heart of Seabird’s success lies its people. From the pioneers who laid the foundation to the many dedicated team members who joined along the way, every single individual has played a vital role in shaping Seabird into one of India’s most respected logistics companies. “You are not just team members, you are the heart & soul of Seabird,” reads one of the many heartfelt messages shared within the organisation. This spirit of unity, passion and commitment continues to be the company’s greatest strength. 

A journey of milestones 

Seabird’s growth has been steady, purposeful and deeply connected to India’s trade and logistics landscape. A proud part of the Parekh Group, the story began in 2004 with the launch of its first Container Freight Station (CFS) at Nhava Sheva, the country’s busiest port. Building on this success, Seabird expanded to Mundra in 2006, followed by the expansion of its Nhava Sheva operations in 2007. 

By 2008, Seabird entered warehousing with its first facility at Palwal, setting the stage for its integrated logistics capabilities. Over time, the company has built a nationwide network of warehouses, today spanning 4 million+ sq. ft. of space. 

The following years saw further expansion. A new CFS at Hazira in 2017 added depth to its network. 

The journey gathered further momentum in 2018, a landmark year that saw the acquisition of MJ Logistics and the launch of the Patli warehouse. The company’s subsidiary SLL grew stronger in 2019, paving the way for more growth. New facilities came up in Bengaluru (2020) and Dhatir (2021), expanding both scale and reach. 

Seabird’s focus on growth through strategic acquisitions continued with the acquisition of BLG Parekh Logistics in 2023, along with the opening of the Farrukhnagar warehouse. By 2024, its transportation vertical had expanded to a fleet of 150+ company-owned trucks, ensuring reliability and control in multimodal movement. And in 2025, Seabird marked another defining milestone: the launch of SLL Integrated (Freight Forwarding), a future-ready consolidated logistics platform designed to serve evolving industry needs.

Seabird’s CFS operations have been a cornerstone of its logistics strength, offering scale and efficiency across key port locations: 

● Hazira, Gujarat – Total Area: 54,500 sq. m. | Distance from Port: 13 km 

● Mundra, Gujarat – Total Area: 54,000 sq. m. 

● Nhava Sheva, Maharashtra – Total Area: 42,000 sq. m. | Distance from Port: 13 km 

Together, these facilities reinforce Seabird’s ability to provide seamless import-export handling, container management and value-added services across India’s busiest trade hubs.
