Odisha emerging as a major agri-export hub
Jun 3, 2025
Odisha exported a total of 41.35 tonnes of fruits and vegetables to key international markets such as Dubai, London, Birmingham, Rome, Venice, Dublin, France and Belgium during the first two months of 2025-26. Of the total exports this fiscal, 30.53 tonnes comprised mangoes, particularly premium varieties such as Amrapalli and Dussehri. Golden Agro Farmer Producer Company Ltd (FPCL) facilitated the first-ever shipment to France and Saptasajya FPCL sent mangoes to Belgium. The export expansion has not only created market diversification but also brought about a more than 60% increase in price realisation for farmers. The current momentum reflects the ambitious targets set by the Odisha government in establishing the state as a major agri-export hub, said a report.
