Logistics cost has come down, to fall to single digits: Gadkari

Oct 13, 2025

India’s logistics cost has reduced by 6%, and the plan is to bring it down to single digits, 9%, by December, said Mr Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, while speaking at a seminar on Forensic Civil Engineering organised by the Institution of Engineers. China has a logistics cost of 8% while in the US and European countries it is 12%.

This is the first time that India’s logistics cost has reduced by 6%, said the Minister, while citing a report by IIM Bangalore and IIT Chennai. If logistics cost is reduced by 7%, India’s exports will reach 1.5 times current levels, he added, as per a report.
