JN Port celebrates 23rd position worldwide and top rank in India in World Bank’s Container Port Performance Index

Oct 1, 2025

Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) has highlighted in a communique that it secured the 23rd position worldwide and the top rank in India in the World Bank’s Container Port Performance Index (CPPI) 2024. The port has further been recognised among the Top 20 global improvers for the period 2020-24, underscoring its consistent growth and rising stature on the global maritime stage.

This recognition reflects not only the efficiency of JNPA’s world class terminal operators, who have enabled faster vessel turnaround, higher productivity per ship and crane, and smoother truck and rail movement, but also the port’s focus on advancing Ease of Doing Business parameters - digitalisation, simplifying processes and infrastructure development.

The port management extended its sincere gratitude to its terminal operators and trade partners, whose sustained efforts, innovation and collaborative spirit have been central to achieving this recognition and elevating JNPA’s global standing.

JNPA Chairman, Mr Unmesh Sharad Wagh, IRS, who is also CMD, VPPL, congratulated JNPA HoDs and officials with a celebratory cake-cutting ceremony.
