India-UK FTA could double two-way trade to $115 bn by 2030, says Assocham

Jul 28, 2026

Bilateral trade between India and the United Kingdom is projected to expand from $58 billion in FY26 to $115 billion by 2030 following the implementation of the bilateral Free Trade Agreement (FTA), according to a study by industry chamber Assocham. The trade pact is expected to generate between 700,000 and 1 million new employment opportunities across India, providing a significant boost to engineering goods, textiles and MSME manufacturing sectors. Assocham President Mr Nirmal K. Minda highlighted that to fully leverage the agreement, domestic exporters must prioritise product quality, strict certification, Rules of Origin compliance and global sustainability standards. Industry leaders noted that continued investments in supply chain logistics and ease-of-doing-business reforms will remain vital to unlocking the full potential of the UK market, according to a report.
