The United Arab Emirates has signalled its intention to invest an additional $25 billion in India in the near future—aiming for a long-term deployment of $100 billion—following the 14th India-UAE High-Level Joint Task Force on Investments co-chaired by Union Commerce Minister Mr Piyush Goyal and ADIA Managing Director Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The fresh capital commitment targets critical infrastructure, including port expansion projects like Vadhvan, shipbuilding, space technology, energy security and financial services. To strengthen energy resilience, both nations are exploring UAE participation in strategic petroleum reserves at Visakhapatnam and Chandikhol, offshore storage in Fujairah, expanded LNG and LPG sourcing, and feasibility studies for underwater gas pipelines. Building on four years of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), the two countries established a dedicated maritime working group and set a target to double bilateral trade to $200 billion by 2032 while expanding local currency trade settlements, according to a report.
