India to Let Mills Export One Million Metric Tons of Sugar Permitted for This Year

India will not restrict sugar mills from exporting the 01 million metric tons of sugar permitted for the current season, government sources said, quashing speculation that falling output estimates for the current year would prompt authorities to curb overseas sales. India, the second-biggest sugar producers of the world , in January 2025 set an export allowance of 01 million metric tons through September 2025, as both the government and the industry believed that there was a surplus for overseas markets.
