SHIPPERS’ MOVEMENT
Air Products and multiple stakeholders come together for a common goal
Air Products, in collaboration with TGP, has successfully executed a complex international shipment involving 83 packages, including 20 heavy lift items, from Deendayal Port (Kandla, India) to Rotterdam Port (Europe), followed by the safe delivery to the final project site in Europe.
This operation involved cargo from four major Indian suppliers — Godrej, Praj, Inox and Zeeco. Instead of using three different ports as initially planned, the team implemented a smart consolidation strategy, routing all cargo through Deendayal Port. This strategic shift resulted in cost savings, simplified coordination and reduced transit risks.
A major highlight of this logistics effort was the transportation of the largest heavy lift item — measuring 80 metres in length, 6 metres in diameter and weighing 450 metric tons. Handling such massive cargo required detailed planning, precise engineering and expert execution.

The overall logistics strategy was led by Mr Gopinath Phargade, Regional Logistics Manager (India & Middle East) at Air Products. The on-ground operations at Kandla were managed by Mr Vishal Trivedi, who ensured smooth coordination among all suppliers, transporters and the freight forwarder.

TGP played a pivotal role by:
* Coordinating with suppliers, port authorities, Customs and ocean carriers
* Managing port handling and vessel loading at Kandla
* Shipping the cargo to Rotterdam
* Ensuring final delivery to the project site in Europe
Several transport partners were involved in moving the cargo from factories to the port, including EXG, BTC, PGL and DRL, ensuring timely arrival of each shipment segment.
This end-to-end execution is a powerful example of how strategic planning, cross-functional collaboration and technical excellence can enable the successful movement of complex and oversized project cargo across continents.
A classic example of what’s possible when strategy meets seamless execution, emphasised a communique.
