HDC berths its deepest draft container vessel

Highlighting a “milestone achievement” at its Haldia Dock Complex (HDC), Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port announced the arrival of MV SITC ZHI on the morning tide of September 8, 2025 — the deepest draft container vessel (direct China service) to berth at HDC till date!

* Arrival Draft: 9.20 m 

* Cargo: 1,265 TEUs 

This marks a significant step forward in HDC’s capability to handle higher draft vessels, reinforcing its position as a reliable and efficient cargo/container hub for global trade, emphasised the communique.
