Govt launches nationwide outreach program to help MSMEs and farmers leverage FTA benefits

The Indian government has launched a comprehensive, state-level outreach campaign designed to educate and assist micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), farmer producer organisations (FPOs) and regional artisan clusters in harnessing export opportunities created by recent Free Trade Agreements (FTAs). Led by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in collaboration with state export promotion councils, the initiative focuses on demystifying complex rules of origin, quality certification standards and digital Customs procedures. By conducting regional workshops, establishing district-level export hubs and providing localised advisory services, the program aims to bridge information gaps, lower trade barriers and integrate grassroots producers directly into global value chains, as per a report.
