Government expands designated immigration posts to three more ports

The Central Government has expanded the list of designated immigration posts under the Immigration & Foreigners Act, 2025 by adding three key seaports to boost secure and seamless maritime travel, namely, Vizhinjam International Seaport, Kerala; Hazira, Gujarat; and Pipavav, Gujarat. 

With these additions, India’s coastal network becomes stronger, smarter and better equipped to handle global passenger movement, enhance border management, boost ease of travel, and unlock smoother pathways for international maritime business and trade connectivity, highlighted a communique.
