Exporters relieved as RoDTEP extended until Sept. 30 with full rates reinstated

India’s flagship export remission scheme has been given a fresh lease of life. The Remission of Duties and Taxes on Exported Products (RoDTEP) scheme has been continued for eligible export products for six months from April 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026. The rates and value caps in Appendix 4R and Appendix 4RE, as applicable on March 31, 2026, remain unchanged. The extension brings additional relief on the rates front. The government had reduced RoDTEP duty benefits by half for most products on February 23, 2026. Full rates stand restored from April 1. The scheme provides refunds ranging from about 0.3% to 3.9% of export value. The scheme covers DTA units, Advance Authorisation holders, SEZ units and Export Oriented Units. It is based on the principle that taxes should not be exported, ensuring zero-rating of Indian goods in global markets, as per a report.
