Dakshin Bharat Gateway Terminal (DBGT), at V. O. Chidambaranar Port, Tuticorin, has proudly announced through a communique the successful handling of a major EXIM transhipment parcel for the first time at the terminal.
The vessel M. V. Mila 3 had capacity of 1,969 TEUs, of which 385 units of 20 foot EXIM containers for transhipment from Tamatave Port to New Mangalore Port were discharged at DBGT.
M. V. Mila 3 had arrived on December 7, 2025 at 1200 hours, berthed at 1345 hours, and sailed out on December 8 at 0825 hours after the seamless completion of operations.
The connecting vessel M. V. MSC Patnaree III, scheduled to berth on December 9, will carry these EXIM transhipment containers to New Mangalore Port.
This achievement highlights DBGT’s growing role as a strategic transhipment hub on the East Coast of India. The terminal expects to handle even more transhipment containers in the future.
DBGT extended its appreciation to its team, and all stakeholders including the shipping fraternity and the Port Authority for their support in accomplishing this significant milestone.
