CONCOR’s door-to-door assured transit container train service finding favour with the trade

Hub-and-spoke model with multiple loading and unloading stops

The Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) has been offering a door-to-door Assured Transit Container Train Service between Delhi and Kolkata, which has become increasingly popular with the trade.

As per a communique, some of the salient features of the service are as follows:

 

 

* Bi-weekly service from Delhi to Kolkata

* Transit assurance of 120 hours

* 28 trips completed with an average transit time of 103 hours

* Route: Tughlakabad – Agra – Kanpur – Kolkata

* Operates under a hub-and-spoke model, enabling cargo loading and unloading at Agra and Kanpur terminals as well

* Door pick-up and door delivery services available in Kolkata and further into the North-East up to Guwahati, with connectivity to train services from Kolkata to Guwahati (Amingaon)
