APM Terminals Pipavav inks major contracts to construct state-of-the-art liquid jetty

Aug 11, 2025

APM Terminals Pipavav has taken a monumental step in turning its commitment from the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 into concrete reality.

It has announced the signing of two major contracts with industry leaders L&T GeoStructure and VAN OORD INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED to construct its new, state-of-the-art liquid jetty at Pipavav Port.

“This isn’t just an infrastructure upgrade; it is a catalyst for national growth and a testament to our shared vision with the Government of Gujarat (GoG) and the Government of India (GoI),” the company emphasised in a communique.

This project directly supports India’s strategic objectives by:

* Strenthening National Infrastructure: Directly aligning with the Maritime India Vision 2030 and PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan to enhance port capacity and logistics efficiency.

* Boosting Economic Growth: The new liquid jetty will significantly expand its handling capacity, attracting further industrial investment and solidifying Gujarat’s position as a premier maritime gateway.

* Fostering Regional Development: It is building more than a jetty; it is building opportunities, creating jobs, and empowering the communities around the Pipavav corridor.

The presence and support of Mr Rajkumar Beniwal, Vice Chairman & CEO of Gujarat Maritime Board, at the signing ceremony underscores the power of public-private partnership in building a self-reliant India (‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’).

As APM Terminals Pipavav MD, Mr Girish Aggarwal, stated, it is focused on “transforming investment into impact.” “Together, we are not just building a port facility; we are building a legacy of progress for Gujarat and for India.”

“We are honoured to partner with the Gujarat Maritime Board in this journey,” the communique added.
