Amazon facilitates $20 bn cumulative e-commerce exports from India

Oct 31, 2025

Amazon’s platform to reach global markets has sold goods worth over $20 billion since 2015. Amazon terms it as cumulative e-commerce exports. As more small and medium-sized sellers tap into the reach of online platforms to go global, the Seattle-based company is targeting $ 80 billion worth of cumulative e-commerce exports from India by 2030, according to the e-tail giant. A growing number of Indian businesses are expanding into global markets, driven by increasing global demand, a competitive manufacturing and sourcing base, and enhanced digital infrastructure. As digital commerce opens new global avenues, Amazon Global Selling is focused on enabling Indian businesses to tap global demand and contribute to India’s export ambitions. The first $8-billion worth of exports took eight years, but exports gathered pace over the past couple of years as digital became mainstream. Amazon, through its Global Selling programme launched in 2015, enables local businesses to sell worldwide, as per a report.
